Our sprint academy program specializes in the development of track sprinters competing in the short sprint events: 60m / 100m / 200m.
Whether you are a young novice just starting your journey in the sport of sprinting, or a developing sprinter looking to take your performance to the next level, we can help you maximise your speed potential.
Our Sprint Academy is a comprehensive & individualized sprint coaching service for athletes looking to develop and maximize their potential in the short sprint events, 60m, 100m, 200m.
We provide a combination of both face to face sprint coaching and online / remote programming and video analysis.
All our athletes receive face to face coaching a minimum of once per week, with the option to attend coaching sessions up to 4 times per week.
Athletes can choose to receive coaching either privately (one on one) or in a small group setting (up to 6 athletes per training group).
Every athlete within our academy receives a fully individualized training programme. Our training programmes are comprehensive, meaning they include all components of training required to maximize speed development.
Depending on needs, training age and time of year, our athletes programmes may include modes of training from the following categories:
Acceleration | Max Velocity | Speed Endurance | Tempo Running / Conditioning
Multi Jump / Plyometrics | Power Development | Weighted Throws | Loaded Jumps / Ballistic Lifts / Olympic Lifts | Special / Specific Strength Development | Maximal Strength Development | General Strength / Hypertrophy
Structural / Prehab / Rehab | Mobility / Stability | General Conditioning
We recognize that every athlete is different. For this reason we make it our mission to ensure that every athlete within our programme gets an equal opportunity to maximize their potential.
Most athletics programmes have all their athletes undertake the SAME training programme year round with minimal effort to discover what each individual really needs. This usually results in some athletes getting great results, others getting average results and some getting no results and never reaching their potential.
Here is where we are different, our mission is EVERY ATHLETE FASTER. To ensure we reach this mission we look to individualize the training of every athlete within our academy. We use diagnostic testing, profiling and constant monitoring to figure out what each athlete needs and how they should be training at any given time point.
We train together as a group but each athlete is always undertaking their own individual programme. Although training programmes may often look similar, (after all we all need to SPRINT!) there is always careful consideration for any individualization that may be necessary.
The end goal is that every athlete within our programme gets an opportunity to learn and understand their body, figure out what their strengths and weaknesses are and undertake a programme designed specifically for their individual needs.
Every athlete within our academy undergo consistent testing and profiling. We utilize a number of different testing and profiling methods in order to gain the best possible understanding of what every athlete needs. The methods we choose for a particular athlete and the complexity of these methods will often depend on an athletes experience and training age. Testing is both imbedded consistently within the training process and placed at strategic times within the training period.
An example of the various testing / profiling methods we may employ are as follows:
Our face to face sprint training sessions are held at local track and field facilities in the Lynfield & Mt Roskill area.
The Exact training location does sometimes vary dependent on weather, availability and training specifics, e.g. depending on where we are in the training year, sometimes we will train on grass, other times we will be on the track.
